Teaching Schedule: Substitute teacher.
Alessandra was introduced to yoga as a teen by her grandmother, a yoga teacher. A high school gymnast, Alessandra immediately took to the physical practice of yoga. In 2014 she developed a regular practice and began to experience mental and spiritual benefits of yoga. She completed her 200 hour teacher training at Tula Yoga Studio under the apprenticeship of David Duerkop in March 2019. Her interest in human anatomy and joint mobility led her to complete a functional range conditioning course. She received her FRCms certification in May 2019.
Alessandra enjoys teaching students of all experience levels, encouraging them to tune in to subtle cues in their own bodies. She holds a certification in trauma-informed yoga teaching and believes, from personal experience, in the power of yoga to help students feel autonomous in their own bodies. She teaches in studios around the city and volunteers her time teaching yoga to incarcerated youth at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. Her sequences tend to be anatomically focused but playful in an effort to help students move better and feel better! When not practicing yoga you can find her nerding out about science and art and exploring Chicago.
