Chris came to yoga in 2009 while living in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Needing an escape from a stressful work environment he ventured into a very small studio where he fell in love with the practice.
After moving to Chicago in 2011 he experimented with various studios and styles, ultimately sticking to a regular Bikram practice, but felt that something was missing. In the spring of 2013 he found a studio that quickly became a second home. He received his 200 RYT at Zen Yoga Garage and is grateful to have apprenticed under with Margo Kellison-Lightburn. He completed his 500hr training under the guidance of Meghan Currie in the Nicaraguan jungle, an experience he is eternally grateful for and will never forget. Chris is a lover of handstands, nature, vegan food, and coffee. With a strong focus on alignment expect longer holds, mixed with breath conscious flows, and some inversion playtime. Most importantly he hopes you walk away from his class with a lighter heart and a few laughs. Chris hopes to inspire people to dive deeper than the physical side of yoga to see how it can shine a brighter light into their life.
