Kellyn's mom enrolled her in a dance class when she was five, and she hasn't stopped moving since. When the external pressures of studying dance in college began to weigh her down, she found solace in yoga. With yoga, she was able to work on the strength and confidence essential to her dance career without the judgment of a dance setting. She found more freedom both mentally and physically then she ever had before. She quickly felt compelled to share what she discovered with others, and completed Corepower Yoga's 200-hour teaching training in 2011. Since then she has been teaching all around the Chicagoland area, constantly looking for more ways to deepen her understanding of the practice.
In addition to yoga classes and workshops, dance also inspires Kellyn's teaching. Her goal is to get students out of their heads and into their bodies. Expect a class that both moves and grounds. She strongly believes that if you let it, yoga will provide exactly what you need.
This past summer, Kellyn travelled to India to deepen her understanding of yoga's origin. Now she feels compelled to give back to the community that gave her so much. She will spend a few months in India next year teaching yoga and dance to autistic children. Follow her travels at www.kellynjackson.com
