Maureen’s first experience with yoga was almost 10 years ago when she began attending Hot Yoga Bikram classes in Los Angeles and Chicago. It wasn’t until recently, however, that she followed her yogic heart, and in a moment of honesty left her stressful corporate job as a marketing director and decided to re-evaluate her path in life. Maureen received her yoga teacher training at Yogaview. She’s also had the opportunity to attend workshops with master teachers, including Richard Freeman, Natasha Rizopoulos, Sianna Sherman, Maty Ezraty, Tias Little, John Friend, Noah Maze and Joan Hyman. Maureen teaches an alignment based Vinyasa Flow with Ashtanga influences to students seeking to deepen their practices and experience challenging self-explorations.
Through daily yoga practice, Maureen was able to heal her chronic lower back pain and an ankle injury that initially appeared to be permanent. Most importantly, Maureen was also able to center herself and enjoy a mindful awareness of her body and life. In Maureen’s class, students will be able to quiet their minds, stay present, and look at themselves honestly to discover what is needed to grow and heal.
Aside from her passion for yoga, Maureen also loves to volunteer, travel, eat natural, sustainable foods, and hang out with her loyal dog, Macallan. She also has her own marketing/consulting business and volunteers with Believe International, a non-profit organization helping impoverished students in the Philippines receive an eduction.
