Teaching Schedule: Substitute teacher.
Julia has been practicing yoga since 2009 and received her 200-hour certification from Yogaview under the guidance of Sara Strother, Claire Mark, Tom Quinn, Quinn Kearney, Amy Owen and Sarah Westbrook.
As a transplant to Chicago with no connections, Julia understands that a yoga practice can be both deeply personal and also a space to cultivate community and connection. As a first year teacher in Chicago Public Schools, Julia came to her mat to find calmness and become grounded while beginning to discover her own personal strength. Since then, Julia has continued to pursue her passion for yoga as well as explore additional pursuits such as acroyoga and meditation. These two practices have taught her how to listen to her body, find her edge, move with purpose and silence distractions more than anything else.
Julia currently teaches alignment-based vinyasa classes where she offers asana variations that meet each student at their level, mindful cueing aligned with the breath, and fun playlists, always.
