Yoga Nidra with Rachel Duerkop

Saturday, April 20th, 4pm - 6pm

Description TBD.

Meditation with Nathan Paulus

Saturday, April 27th, 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Meditation is a tool that works to gradual refine a person from the inside out, and it is a very good counterbalance to a physical practice. The real aim of meditation is establishing some connection back to the highest part of yourself, while simultaneously creating a separation from our outer manifestations and the ego's perception of self.

This class will start a short movement sequence to wake up and center the bodies energy. There will be a brief talk about the meditation about how and why it works. Then, Nathan will lead a guided meditation practice with time for questions at the end.

Nathan has 7 years of study and practice with this form of meditation under the guidance of a good teacher. He has benefited greatly from meditation practice, and is happy to share from his experience.

Advanced Asana: Visvamitrasana (Laterals and Splits) – April 20, 1pm - 2:30pm

Advanced Asana classes consist of a sequence of seated and standing postures that focus on warming up the body in such a way as to give students the best chance of reaching their deepest expression of the peak postures. April’s Advanced Asana class will focus on building towards Visvamitrasana, with modifications and related variations of poses stretching the laterals and hamstrings.

While these classes are not ideal for someone who has never taken a yoga class before, there is also no level of proficiency you must achieve before attending this Advanced Asana class. Yogis of all levels are welcome. All that you need for this class is familiarity with the basic postures found in a vinyasa class and an open mind. This class is for you if you desire to grow and challenge yourself in your physical practice by experimenting with new variations of poses and playing with new postures to potentially incorporate into your practice. Classes will also involve some inversion play, with options incorporating elements of the class theme, followed by a relaxing unwind and savasana.
