Join Maile for a practical workshop that demystifies meditation. We’ll define what practice really is—moving past the “empty mind” myth to proven methods like focused attention and open awareness. You’ll learn comfortable posture options (chair, cushion, or bench), tricks for restless legs, and how to use simple anchors—body, breath, sound, or mantra—to gently and kindly steer the mind back home to the present. Expect clear take‑home guidance on creating a meditation routine that fits in with your life. Finally, we will highlight the immense, research‑supported benefits of steady practice—lower stress, sharper focus, steadier emotions, and deeper compassion—so you leave knowing both how to meditate and why it matters.
**All participants will be entered into a drawing for a FREE meditation cushion (Zafu).
