Access + Representation Scholarship

Tula is committed to making yoga teacher training more accessible to people who have historically been underrepresented or experienced barriers in mainstream Western yoga spaces.

Partial scholarships are available for students for whom the cost of training is a meaningful barrier and whose lived experience has included underrepresentation, exclusion, or limited access within yoga and wellness communities.

This may include people who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled or chronically ill, neurodivergent, people in larger bodies, and others whose identities or lived experiences have not traditionally been well represented in Western yoga spaces.

Scholarships are limited and are considered based on a combination of financial need, barriers to access, lived experience, and your interest in bringing yoga into communities or settings where it may be less available.

We are not looking for anyone to “prove” that they belong to a particular category. We simply ask applicants to tell us a little about themselves, what has shaped their relationship with yoga, and how scholarship support would make participating in this training more possible.

Applications are now OPEN for our

Winter 2027 Session

How to Apply

If you are interested in being considered for an Access + Representation Scholarship, please complete the scholarship application below.

We ask for a $50 scholarship application fee at the time you apply. We have found that this small commitment helps us focus our limited scholarship funds and review time on applicants who are seriously considering participating in the training.

If you receive a scholarship and enroll, the $50 application fee will be applied toward your remaining tuition.

If you are not selected for a scholarship, your $50 application fee will be refunded.

And importantly, if the $50 application fee itself creates a financial barrier for you, please reach out to us. We do not want the application fee to prevent someone from being considered for support.

What Happens Next

Once we receive your application, we will review it with consideration for financial need, barriers to access, lived experience, your relationship with yoga, and what is drawing you to the training.

There is no formal interview required. If we have questions or would like to learn a little more about your application, Maile may reach out directly.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by email and will receive information about the amount of their award, remaining tuition, payment options, and next steps.

Because scholarship funds are limited, submitting an application does not guarantee an award. We ask that you apply with the sincere intention of participating in the upcoming training if scholarship support makes enrollment financially possible for you.

Before You Apply

Please take a moment to review the training dates, tuition, and program expectations before submitting your application.

You do not need to know that you want to become a professional yoga teacher. You may be interested in teaching, deepening your personal practice, bringing yoga into work you already do, continuing into therapeutic-yoga study, or simply exploring where a deeper study of yoga may lead.

What matters most is that you are genuinely interested in participating in the training and that scholarship support would make that opportunity more accessible to you.

LAST DAY to apply is December 31, 2026
